Dream Home, Week 4

DREAM HOME

Week 4 - The Sunshine State Shines Bright

This week, the Dream Home journey took us to sun-drenched Queensland, where Hollywood glamour collided with cool, modern vibes, and coastal Scandinavian charm created inviting retreats. The contestants' thoughtful use of Luxaflex window furnishings played a significant role in enhancing the functionality and beauty of each space.

Coorparoo - Hollywood Glamour with a Cool Vibe

Rhys and Liam's living room and laundry area were a masterful blend of functionality and style. The living room captured the Hollywood and Palm Springs brief perfectly. The pink leather TV console and couch seamlessly blended with the rest of the furnishings, showcasing a brave mix of materials. The window, dressed in Luxaflex Curtains in Orlane fabric, added the perfect touch of warmth and softness. The laundry area continued this theme with a generous, thoughtfully designed space that felt fresh and cohesive.

Lara and Peter's kitchen hit the brief perfectly, with a variety of finishes seamlessly integrated from rangehood to benchtop to cooktop. The four-quadrant fridge added a party vibe, while the concealed walk-in pantry offered ample storage. "This is my favourite kitchen so far from this series," praised Simon. The guest bedroom uses smart Luxaflex PowerView® automations to operate Luxaflex Pirouette® Shades in Satin fabric at the touch of a button, showcasing the architectural beauty of the original window and adding heritage charm to the home.

Taeler and Elle's bathroom was a showstopper, with floor-to-ceiling tiling and a sweeping curved shower space creating a luxurious atmosphere. Simon praised the sanctuary-like shower, with a double skylight above the bathtub flooding the space with natural light. Their dining room balanced glamour and functionality, featuring a table that seated more people and a usable mini bar. The continuous curves—from the S-wave Luxaflex Blockout Curtains in Orlane fabric and the round-edged dining table to the wavy rug—created a cohesive design. Rosie marvelled, "The curtain swept around the corner, it almost alluded to curved glass, it was perfection!" The layered Luxaflex Roller Blinds completed the ambiance, making it perfect for entertaining.

Deception Bay - Warm Coastal Scandi Retreat

Jacinta and Jordan made a bold choice by using Luxaflex PolySatin® Shutters in the laundry. These waterproof shutters added a sleek, modern touch while providing excellent light control and durability. The living room, despite feeling slightly cramped, boasted a great colour palette that linked beautifully with the stone feature under the TV. This continuity of design elements created a cohesive and inviting space for family relaxation.

Hannah and Johnny's bedroom design was minimalistic, focusing on clean lines and simplicity. The understated elegance of the space was complemented by the use of natural materials and soft colours, creating a peaceful retreat. The kitchen, however, was the true standout. The venetian plaster colour and texture choices were sensational, with arches flowing seamlessly from the main kitchen area into the butler's pantry. Luxaflex Sheer Curtains in Ivy-Lace fabric in the dining area added a touch of sophistication and elegance, enhancing the overall coastal Scandi aesthetic.

Brad and Mel's dining room exuded a cozy yet stylish ambiance. The integration of warm tones brought a touch of Scandinavian charm to the space. The large dining table, surrounded by the right amount of seating, became the perfect spot for family gatherings. The couple’s use of Luxaflex Sheer Curtains in Ivy Lace fabric provided excellent light control and privacy, while seamlessly integrating with the kitchen area designed by another team. These window treatments not only enhanced the aesthetics but also improved energy efficiency and added a soft, elegant touch to the room. The master bathroom continued this theme with a luxurious feel, featuring a harmonious blend of textures and finishes that created a serene and spa-like atmosphere.

With the teams deciding on their final room renovations and managing budgets, the stage is set for an epic conclusion. Stay tuned as the action continues next week when the contestants move on to transform the rest of the homes, where more spaces will be unveiled, showcasing the perfect marriage of luxury and practicality with the help of Luxaflex window furnishings.
